Katherine Rose Goodpaster Short, 93, Salvisa, KY, widow of Arvin Short, died Friday, August 25, 2023, at Baptist Health , in Lexington. Born October 20, 1929, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Myrtle (Royalty) Goodpaster. Katherine was a homemaker and a member of the Clay Lick Methodist Church and attended The Carpenters Christian Church for the last several years.

Survivors include: one daughter: Donna Short Green and one son: Arvin Wayne "Buddy" (Glynda) Short; Sister In Law, Ava Jewel Horn; she also has five grandchildren: La-Neen (Johnny) Brown, Leigh-Ann (Keith) Miller, Letha (Stephen) Keebortz, DeWayne (Connie) Short and Daniel Short; four great-grandchildren, Kynleigh Grace Miller, Presley Lynn Bradshaw, Beau Thomas Brown and, Peyton Leigh Bradshaw. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Arvin Short and four brothers, Marvin Horn, Willie B. Horn, Bobby Goodpaster and Clarence Thomas Goodpaster.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday; Aug 31 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, By Greg Warren, Jacob Bryant, Larry Camic and John Kesel. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.

Pallbearers are: DeWayne Short, Daniel Short, Keith Miller, Johnny Brown, Stephen Keebortz, Len Goodpaster, Jimmy Goodpaster and Kenny Goodpaster. Honorary Bearers: Kynleigh Miller, Presley Bradshaw, Beau Thomas Brown and Peyton Bradshaw, Tony Horn, Lee Horn, Bryan Horn, Tommy Egbert and Steve Compton
