Larry Wayne Matherly, 79, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Virginia Rose Logue Matherly, died Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the Bradford Square Health Care Center, Frankfort, KY, following a long and courageous battle with Parkinsons. Born July 23, 1944, in Milford, IL, he was the son of the late William Douglas and Mary Hannah (Smith) Matherly. He was a retired Machinist & Platinum Smith for Corning Inc., was a Partner in Wiley & Matherly Roofing for 30 yrs., was a graduate of Burgin High School, attended the Univ. of KY, was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church [past SS Teacher & Deacon], and was a member of American Legion.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Paula Michelle (Paul) Kinzer of Georgetown, KY; one son, Isaac (Amanda) Matherly of Harrodsburg, KY; one brother, Donald E. (Linda) Matherly of IN; three grandsons, Deacon Matherly, and Lucas and Landon Kinzer; special nieces, Savannah Wiley, Whitney Martin, B.J. Sullivan, Morgan Logue, Jessye Davis, Jenacy Davis, Carrie Wiley, Bobbie Lou Morris, Ellie Vandivier, Jo Hanna Lewis, Jamie Byrd, Belinda Robinson, and Robin Logue; special caregiver, Chelsey Moore. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Anna Ruth Keeling, James D. "Jimmy" Matherly, and Bobby Matherly.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thurs., Oct. 19, 2023, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by David Thompson with Mike Matherly and Buddy Logue assisting. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.

Pallbearers are: Paul Kinzer, Lucas Kinzer, Landon Kinzer, Robert Baughman Logue, Steven Wiley, Todd Darland, John Alben Logue, and Gabriel Logue. Honorary bearers are: Sam Martin, Mike Lewis, Freddie Lewis, Richard Sullivan, Jeff Davis, Kelly Darland, Howard Logue Jr., Glenn Logue, John Logue, Travis Logue, Darron Vandivier, Brian Wiley, Carter Logue and Dudley Morris.
