Obituary of Shirley Alsman

Shirley A. Alsman, 75, Harrodsburg, KY, died Saturday, November 4, 2023, at her home. Born January 25, 1948, in Mercer County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Baxter and the late Christine (Anderson) Hurst. she was a retired Trim Masters Inc. employee, was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, and attended The Carpenter's Christian Church. Shirley loved playing bingo, fishing, taking crusies, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include: two daughters, Rachel Baltimore of Harrodsburg, KY and Sandra Alsman of Cave City, KY; one son, Jimmy (Angela) Alsman of Murfreesboro, TN; two sisters, Wanda Metcalf of OK and Betty Hicks of Lawrenceburg, KY; four brothers, Donnie Baxter of London, KY, Glen, Jay & Earl Baxter of TX; her goddaughter, Donna Robinson; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Taylor, two siblings, Mike & Joyce Baxter, and a granddaughter, Shannon Alsman. Funeral services 2:00 PM Thurs., Nov. 9, 2023, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Bro. James Harley. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the hour of service Thursday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are: Jessie & Brian Raney, Thomas Koos, Leland & Kendan Ammons, Stephen Cline, Avin Alsman, Avery Ammons, and Dawson Watts. Honorary bearers are grandchildren: Heather, Katie, Brittany, Shannon, Matthew, Leland, Michelle, Ashley, and Smaria.
