John Wayne Watts, 69, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Pauline “Polly" Gail Dearing, died Monday, January 1, 2024, at the Harrodsburg Health & Rehabilitation Center, Harrodsburg KY. Born July 29, 1954, in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late Elgin Wayne and Virginia Nylous (LouAllen) Watts. John was a Baptist minister for 42 years and loved spending time with family. He enjoyed fishing, coin collecting and woodworking in his spare time. He was a member of Ellers Memorial Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: two sons, Mark (Andrea) Watts of Corbin, KY and James (Robyn) Watts of Harrodsburg, KY; two sisters, Ruth Oglesbee of Paris, KY and Glenda Coleman of Georgetown, KY; one brother, Roy (Darlene) Watts; six grandchildren, Austin (Kelsey) Watts, Tanner Watts, Levi Watts, Paige (Zach) Newman, Lauryn Watts and Addison Watts; five great grandchildren: Prestlee Hurst, Brantlee Hurst, Harper Newman, Navee Newman and Jhett Newman; a special aunt: Louise Haydon.
Funeral services will be held at Ransdell Funeral Chapel Friday January 5, 2024 at 2pm. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be Friday January 5, 2024 at 11am-2pm.
Pallbearers: Austin Watts, Tanner Watts, Levi Watts, Zach Newman, Cody Becknell and Brantlee Hurst. Honorary Bearers: Paige Newman, Addison Watts, Lauryn Watts, Prestlee Hurst, Harper Newman, Navee Newman and Jhett Newman.
