Charles Lewis, age 92, Harrodsburg, widower of Elsie (Harley) Lewis, died Friday, February 16, 2024, at Advent Health in Deland, FL. Charles was born September 13, 1931 in Harrodsburg, KY, to the late Pagie and Loamie Alice (Claunch) Lewis. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, was a retired farmer, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include: a daughter, Georgetta (Steve) L. Bailey of Harrodsburg, KY; two siblings, Linda Watts and Pagie Lewis, Mercer Co.; a special brother, Kenny Whiteside, Mercer Co.; two grandchildren; Bruce (Charissa) Wade and Angie Wade Swabey; four great grandchildren, Mia & Alexa Wade and Bliss & Jacob Swabey; three step grandchildren; Adina (Alex) Perez, Aaron Bailey and Stephanie (Brett) Anness; three step great grandchildren, Reis & Sloane Bailey and Austin Anness.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Sue Lewis, siblings, Opal French, Glenn Lewis, Florence Bea Devine, Bruce Lewis, Elizabeth Lee Hayslett, Tony A. Lewis, Barbara Hodge, and Buford Lewis.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY, by Derek Baker and Bruce Wade. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM, Friday, and after 8:00 AM, Saturday, at Ransdell’s.
Pallbearers; Johnny Bailey, Steve Stewart, Mike Scull, Yogie Yeager, Charlie Baker, Tony Pinkston, Bruce Wade and Jacob Swabey. Honorary Pallbearers; Bob Richmond, Gary Brown (of Rushville, IN) and Kenny Carey.
