Steven Mitchell Brown, age 72, husband of, Sandra “Sandy” (Murphy) Brown, of Harrodsburg died Saturday, February 24, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Steven was born February 25, 1951 in Harrodsburg, KY. He is the son of the late Holbert and Madge (Cornish) Brown. Steve was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received five special recognitions; Sharp Shooter, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Purple Heart and National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, a bass guitar player in a band before he met his wife Sandy, and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved riding four wheelers, fishing and piddling outside. He was a retired Lexmark manager.

He is survived by his wife: Sandra (Murphy) Brown and three daughters: Christy (Corey) Walker of Harrodsburg, KY, Stephanie (Bobby) McCoun of Frankfort, KY and Kelly (Robbie Peach) Carson of Lawrenceburg, KY. He also has six grandchildren; Krista & Destiny Walker; Ryan & Jacob McCoun; Jeffery & Ethan Carson.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lorraine Cave and Elizabeth Hardy, and brother, Delbert "Peanut" Harlow and Son-In-Law Jeff Carson.

Pallbearers: Bobby McCoun, Ryan McCoun, Jacob McCoun, Jeffery Carson, Ethan Carson and Robbie Peach. Honorary Pallbearers: Corey Walker, Austin Williams, Jess Williams, Rodney Harlow, Ronnie Broce, Winston Preston, Krista Walker, Destiny Walker and Richard Sparrow.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Tuesday February 27, 2024 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by George Dye & Dallas Daniels. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Kirkwood Cemetery, Salvisa KY. Visitation will be held Monday February 26, 2024 from 4pm-8pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
