Alene T. Perkins
Alene T. Perkins, age 91, Harrodsburg, formerly of Carolton, widow of John A. Perkins died Monday, March 28, 2005 in a traffic accident in Jessamine, KY.
Born November 16, 1913 in Taylorsville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mamie (Day) Tichenor. She was a retired teacher from the Spencer, Shelby, Carrol & Bourbon County School Systems. She was an active member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and formerly the Carollton Baptist Church, she was a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the W.M.U and Light & Lively Group. She was also a member of the Ebenezer Homemakers, Retired Teachers Association, VFW Auxiliary, Democratic Womans Club, North Mercer Concerned Citizens; and an avid Kentucky Wildcat Fan. She also did volunteer work for many groups.
Survivors include: , one son: Joe ( Sue) Perkins of Harrodsburg; a grandson, Kevin (Ann) Perkins of Harrodsburg; a granddaughter-in-law, Cari Perkins of Harrodsburg; a great granddaughter, Olivia Perkins; two great grandsons, Alex Perkins and John Preston Perkins; a niece, Molly J. Edwards. She was predeceased by a grandson Capt. John A. Perkins.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 31 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dr. Robert DeFoor and Phil Williams. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Kevin Perkins, Alex Perkins, Kenny Wade, Monty Phillips, Joe Harlow, Joe Stevens, The Members of Her Sunday School Class are to serve as Honorary Bearers
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Thursday prior to the service at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Recreation & Outreach Center at Harrodsburg Baptist Church or the Wilderness Trace YMCA.
