Melvina D. Cheatham, age 89, of Harrodsburg died Friday, April 12, 2024 at her home in Harrodsburg. She was born March 15, 1935 in Harrodsburg, KY, to the late George and Cordelia (Claunch) Durr. Melvina was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and a retired employee of Signet Systems.

She is survived by one daughter: Edwina (John) Tarter and two sons: Joe (Elizabeth) Cheatham and George (Donna) Cheatham; One sister: Bea Gritton; six grandchildren; Jeremy (Sarah Beth) Cheatham, Wyatt (Kelsey) Tarter, Carson (Ian) Tanner, Erica Page(Thomas Lehman), Kayla (Terry Williams) Cheatham and Rebecca Cheatham. Eight Great Grandchildren; Braxton Williams, Kailey Cheatham, Carter Williams, Lucas Page, Ezra Lehman, Violet Cheatham, Aaron Cheatham and Levi Cheatham. Melvina was preceded in death by a grandson; George Daniel Cheatham, her Brothers; William, Morris, Leslie and Chandler Durr, and Sisters; Beulah Fae Bugg, Denia Marie Norton and Virginia Robertson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 17, 2024 from 11am-1pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington ST., Harrodsburg KY. Funeral Services will be at 1pm Wednesday with Rollin Tarter officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are: Jeremy, Kayla, and Rebecca Cheatham, Wyatt Tarter, Carson Tanner, and Erica Page. Honorary bearers are: nieces and nephews.
