Thomas William Carey, Jr., 74 of Burgin, KY, husband of Phyllis McCoy Carey died Sunday, May 12, 2024, at his home. Born June 28, 1949, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Thomas William and Lucy (Hubbard) Carey. Thomas was the Body Shop Manager for Stuart-Powell Ford and an insurance adjuster for McCloud Claims. He was member of the Burgin Christian Church, an avid fisherman, loved NASCAR and playing the rhythm guitar. Survivors in addition to his wife, Phyllis, include: two sons: David Thomas Carey (Loria Sherrow) and Richard Jason "Rick" Carey, both of Mercer County; two sisters: Glenna (Mike) Marsh of Lexington, KY and Pamela Parks of Harrodsburg, KY, and one brother: Anthony (Helen) Carey of Clarksville, TN; he also has one granddaughter, Kirsten Carey. Funeral services will be at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY; 11:30 am Wednesday, May 15 by Bro. Larry Holbrook. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:30 PM Tuesday at Ransdell’s. Pallbearers: Rick Carey, Mark Carey, Scotty Sizemore, Scott Sprague, Casey McCoy and Matt McCoy.
