James Givens Ingram, 88, Harrodsburg, died August 25, 2024, at Baptist Health Lexington. Born June 1, 1936 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Samuel Givens and Ruth (McDonald) Ingram. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, the late Janet Thomas Ingram.
Jim cared deeply for his family, church and community. He was a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Jim was a devoted member of Harrodsburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) serving as an elder and former chairman of the board. He was chairman of the board of the James B Haggin Hospital from 1988 to 2017.
Jim graduated from the University of Kentucky and was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He earned an MBA at Stanford University in California. During his career, Jim worked for Arthur Andersen in Indiana and C&S Bank in Atlanta before returning to Harrodsburg in 1977 to become President and CEO of Mercer County National Bank.
Survivors include three daughters, Dianne Oliverio, Dawn (Mark) Olive, and Debbie (Greg) Souder; eight grandchildren, Anthony (Rilee) and Dominic (Toni) Oliverio, Allison (Doug) Weidman, Natalie (Hayden) Stump, Elizabeth Olive, Nicholas (Katie), Landon (Raegan) and Emmy Souder; three great-grandchildren, Wesley, Cameron and Callen; one sister, Genie Whayne; a brother-in-law, Bruce (Lana) Thomas; a sister-in-law, Joyce Newman; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 PM, Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Harrodsburg Christian Church by Micki McHugh. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be from 11 AM until 1 PM, Thursday, Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Pallbearers are Anthony and Dominic Oliverio, Nicholas, Landon, and Greg Souder, and Mark Olive.
