Obituary of Steve Vinyard

John Steven “Steve” Vinyard, 64, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Pam Biggs Vinyard, died Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the Ephraim McDowell James B Haggin Hospital in Harrodsburg. Born May 17, 1960, in Harrodsburg, to the late John L. and the late Hallie F. Vinyard. He graduated from Harrodsburg High School in 1978 and later married his high school sweetheart, Pam on July 17, 1982. Steve began his career as a diesel mechanic, working for Mack Trucks of Lexington and Lexington Truck Sales, spanning almost 20 years. He then joined Bright’s Bottled Gas in 1997 as a Safety Director and finally as the District Manager, until his health forced his retirement in 2010. He was a devoted family man, dedicating his life to his wife of 42 years and his children, Kelli and Logan. His granddaughter, Madisynn, was the highlight of his life. They were a bonded pair from the moment of her birth. He was her top supporter and her best friend. He found great comfort in his dog, Baylee Jo, who passed away in August of this year. Throughout his life, he had a passion for motorcycles, tractors, and fishing. He loved tinkering with engines and could fix most anything. In later years he enjoyed lawn and garden tractor pulls with his dear friend, Tyler Watts. Steve had a great love for the Lord and was a devoted prayer warrior, praying unceasingly for those in need. He loved the old hymns and was most always heard singing. Survivors in addition to his wife Pam Biggs Vinyard include one daughter: Kelli Nichole Griffin and her husband Joey; one son: John "Logan" Vinyard and his wife Rebecca; and his granddaughter, Madisynn Griffin. The Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY with Doug Vandiver and Steven Dresen officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 10 am - 2 pm, Friday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington St., Harrodsburg, KY. Pallbearers are Larry Votaw, Billy Mac Gritton, Rex Kidd, Tim Kidd, John Bright and Jerry Thacker. Honorary Bearers are: Tyler Watts,Maurice Baker, Darrell Beavers, Dr. Buddy Hurt, Pete Elliott,Dale Heise, Kevin Horn, David Beams, Billy Dunaway,Tommy Yankey, Mike Yankey, Darrell Lambert and Leon Burns.
