Obituary of Alma Bottoms

Alma Bottoms Alma Bottoms, age 92, Harrodsburg, widow of Albert Casey Bottoms, died Sunday, May 8, 2005 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY. Born October 21, 1912 in Tatum Springs, Washington County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Eva Winnie (Shewmaker) Ryan Sr.. She was a seamstress at Cricketeer Mfg. Co. And Cowdens Mfg. Alma was a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church where she was the oldest member, taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years and will be greatly missed by her church.she was also a member of the Mercer County Senior Citizens. Survivors include: a daughter: Linda (Stan) Riney of Harrodsburg, KY and two sons: Glen Allen (Barbara) Bottoms of Frankfort, KY, Donald 'Raine' (Betty) Bottoms of Columbus, OH; four sisters: Evelyn Walker of Malta, IL, Devola Doll of Rockford, IL, Ilene Sanders of Maple Park, IL, Barbara Haile of DeKalb, IL; and two brothers: Dee Ryan of Batavia, IL, Karl Ryan of DeKalb, IL; a Daughter-in-law, Ella Rose Bottoms of Georgetown, KY;; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. A Number Of Nieces & Nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Bruce Bottoms; four sisters, Naomi, Martha, Darlene and Patricia Ryan; three brothers, William, Glen Jr. and Johnny Ryan. Funeral services will be conducted by Everett Priddy and Bobby Logue. Burial will be in the the Peter's Cemetery at Mackville, KY. Pallbearers are: John Brodie, Jeff Hamblen, Steve Bottoms, Vince Sams, Eric Norman, Donnie Bottoms, John Hall, Allen Harlow, Tim Sheehan and Troy Howard. Honorary Bearers are Glenna Bottoms, Sandy Sams, Shelia Bottoms, Casey Hamblen, Missy Brodie, Robbie Bottoms, Lori Sheehan, Becky Hall, Lisa Norman and Shawna Howard. Visitation will be at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Memorial contributions may be sent to Mackville Community Development.
