JORG MINOT POTTS Jorg Minot Potts age 50, of Calvary Lane, Harrodsburg, died June 9, 2005 at his home. The was the son of the late Andrew Shouse and Edna Marie (France) Potts. He was a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service since 1984. Jorge was a member of the Mercer Church of Christ, he was baptized into the Lord’s Church in 1987. Jorg served as a Staff Sgt in the U.S. Army where he was a Drill Instructor at Ft. Knox where he received the Meritorious Service Commendation. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. Jorg’s greatest joys were being a good father, grandfather and serving as the Public Address Announcer for Mercer County Sports. Survivors include his wife; Tammy Dennis Potts, two sons; Danny (Bobbie) Potts and Andy Potts, a daughter; Jeanie (Jason) Sanford, all of Harrodsburg, Three grandchildren; Caitlyn Ciera and Jensen LeAnne Potts and Wyatt Dewayne Sanford, two brothers; John Gary Potts of Lexington, Thomas S. Potts and a sister; Dona Kendrick both of Harrodsburg, his Father and Mother-in-law; Tommy and Jean Dennis also of Harrodsburg. He was predeceased by a sister Betty Ann Potts, two brothers-in-law; Dewayne Dennis and David Kendrick whom along with his sister Dona raised Jorg. Funeral Services will be 2:30 PM Sunday, June 12, 2005, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Jason Pierce, Mike Justice and Jim Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 PM Saturday, June 11, 2005. Pallbearers will be David Kendrick, Robert Kendrick, Brian Kendrick, Ken Kendrick, Tommy Dennis, Monty McRay John Warren and Jim Smith. Honorary bearers are to be: James Thomas, Homer Yates, Jeremy Shope, Ritchie Bottoms, Seth Kendrick, Todd Collier and The Men of the Mercer Church of Christ. Memorials are suggested to Heritage Hospice or the Mercer Co. Baseball Team.
