Sherman Dale Trayner, age 69, Harrodsburg, husband of Norma Jean Russell Trayner, died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY. Born March 11, 1936 in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late Martin Luther and Sadie (Perkins) Trayner. He was married to Norma Jean Russell. He was a retired engineer from IBM. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, he was an Associate Member of the Southwest Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, FL. Sherman was a member of the Faith, Hope and Love Sunday School Class and a Deacon at Harrodsburg Baptist. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #777 F & AM and a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include: his wife: Norma Jean (Russell) Trayner, two daughters: Kim (Scott) Shannon of Frankfort, KY, Ann Robin (Billy) Dunaway of Harrodsburg, KY and one son: Dale Trayner of Chespeak, VA; three sisters: Mary Alice McDonald of Greenville, SC, Doris Carey of Louisville, KY, Helen Wade of Lexington, KY; and five brothers: Luther Austin Trayner of Lexington, KY, Morris Trayner of Danville, KY, Ronald Trayner of Midway, KY, Lynn Trayner of OH, Howard Trayner of Springfield, KY; Granddaughter, Mindy Shannon; Granddaughter, Marla Shannon; Grandson, Brandon Sutton; Step Grandson, Tyler Dunaway; Aunt, Kathryn Caton; Several Nieces & Nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Monday, August 29 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dr. Robert DeFoor. Burial with Masonic Rites will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Arvid Tackett, Kyle Pankey, Jimmy Currens, Harry Kimmey, Mike Mulheeren, Houston Moody, Clyde Jenkins, Jack Wicks. Honorary Bearers are: Jack Raudenbush, Kenny Carey, Connie Gillis, Dick Dart, Jack Houston, Dave Edens, Dennis Trayner, David Trayner, Troy Trayner, Michael Carey, Stanley Jenkins Visitation will be Sunday, August 28 from after 3:00 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
