Obituary of Lawrence "Strut" Martin

Lawrence Strut Martin, age 92, Salvisa, widower of Catherine Savannah Popp Martin, died Saturday, October 1, 2005 at the Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, KY.
Born February 21, 1913 in Oak Hill, KY, he was the son of the late John K. and Sarah Bell (King) Martin. He was a retired machinist for International Harvister in Indianapolis, a farmer and woodworker. Strut was a member of the Kirkwood Baptist Church and a former member of the Salvisa Ruritans and member of the UAW.
Survivors include: a daughter: Carole Wendell of Greenwood, IN; a Granddaughter, Kelly (Chuck) Hinkle of Salvisa, KY; a Grandson, Chris (Melissa) Choee of Salvisa, KY; Great Granddaughter, Laura Choee.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 PM, Tuesday, October 4 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Jerel Coffey, Ray Coats And Jason Clark. Burial, with Military honors will be in the Kirkwood Cemetery, Salvisa.
Pallbearers are: Barry Carmickle, Chad Hinkle, Don Freeman, Guy Driscoll, Steven Goodlett and Travis Gray. Honorary bearers are: Carole Wendell, Chuck & Melissa Hinkle, Chris, Melissa & Laura Choee.
Visitation will be Monday, October 3 from after 5:00 PM and Tuesday prior to service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Kirkwood Baptist Church, 1955 Kirkwood Road, Salvisa, KY 40372.
