Harvey Jeffries “Jeff” Kurtz, age 89, died Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at the V. A. Medical Ctr., Lexington, KY.


Born February 17, 1916 in Burgin, KY, he was the son of the late Clarence Roland and Nora Ethel (Voorhies) Kurtz Sr. He served during World War II in the Army. He was a farmer and a member of the Burgin Baptist Church.


Survivors include: a brother: Clarence Kurtz of Mercer Co, KY; and Numerous Nieces & Nephews, He was predeceased by one brother; Alvin Voorhies Kurtz, and six sisters; Hazel Kurtz Sims, Jesse Katherine Sims, Margaret Frances Tumey, Evelyn Davis, Naomi Ray Kurtz and Mary Louise Carter.


Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM, Thursday, October 13 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Greg Humpert. Burial with military rites will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.


Pallbearers are: Boone Logan, H.J. Sims, Clinton Sims, Tommy Camden, Terry Camden, Roy Beasley, Lonnie Jenkins and Jonathon Kurtz. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday prior to Service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
