Obituary of Christine Foster

Christine Foster, age 92, of Greenville, SC, died Sunday, January 1, 2006 at St Francis Hospital, Greenville, SC. Born July 10, 1913 in Mercer County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Claude Andrew and Nettie (Patterson) Britton, she was the widow of Clyde ´Brownie´ Foster. She was an elementary school teacher at Harrodsburg & Cornishville and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. She was also a former Sunday School, Vacation Bible School teacher, and a G. A. leader. Mrs. Foster was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, a member of the D.A.R., and the KY Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include: one daughter: Jane and her husband Dr. Frank Powell, III. of Seneca, SC; one Granddaughter, Alison Powell; one Grandson, Frank M. Powell, IV; and a Great Grandchildren, Austin Tyler Powell, Henry Grady Ballard III, and Leona Camille Ballard. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, 1/4/2006, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dr. Robert DeFoor. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers: Bill Shewmaker, Chris Short, Jerry Freeman, John Harlow, Danny Yates, Bill Randolph. Honorary: Greg Souder, Jack Robertson, Tommy Hurst, Charlie Ison, Sleet Leonard, Bob Baughman, Joe Hood, and Members of the Welcome Sunday School Class. Memorial contributions may be sent to Harrodsburg Baptist Foundation or charity of one’s choice.
