James Lewis, age 84, Ridgeway Drive, Harrodsburg, husband of Gladys Currens Lewis, died Thursday, January 12, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born March 2, 1921 in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late Goldie and Minnie (Robinson) Lewis. He served our country during World War II in the Army. He was a mechanic for Ingraham´s Buick Chevrolet And Huff & McCrystal Garage. He was also a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church. James is survived by: his wife: Gladys (Currens) Lewis, one daughter: JoAnn (“Butch” James) Merchant and one son: Bobby (Brenda) Lewis both of Harrodsburg, KY; four brothers: Randall Lewis of Lawrenceburg, KY, Goldie Lewis, Goodloe Lewis, & Marvin Lewis all of Harrodsburg, KY; a Granddaughter, Bridget (John) Logue; three Grandsons, Bryant (Pam) Merchant, Daryl and Kevin Lewis; Great Granddaughters, Jennifer Merchant, Hannah Logue and Rachel Logue; Great Grandsons, Jordan Merchant and Jonathan Logue; A Number Of Nieces & Nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Marshall & Cleo Lewis. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 15 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Michael West and Danny Wiley. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Terry Currens, Keith Currens, Jeff Currens, Ricky Lewis, Randy Lewis and Haldon Lewis. Honorary Bearers are: Kelly Currens, Lenny Currens, Lee Currens Jr., Todd Currens, Kevin Currens, Johnny Currens and David Smock Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Saturday, January 14 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
