Obituary of Lewis Denver Wilson

Lewis Denver Wilson, 78, of Beaumont Avenue, died Friday, February 17, 2006 at Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born March 14, 1927, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Paul and Ruth Broaddus Wilson. He served during World War II in the Navy, was a retired vice president for Broaddus Inc. and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church. He also served on the Harrodsburg Board of Education, was a former chairman of the Mercer County Republican Party, past director of Mercer Federal Savings and Loan, and was past president of the Lions Club. He was the widower of Irene Dean Wilson. Survivors include: a son, Paul G. Wilson of Burns, Tenn.; a sister, Mary F. Eads of Garrard County; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 20, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Don Chase. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites. Pallbearers will be Kevin and Gavin Wilson, James Eads, Glenn and Joe Dean, Greg Long and Barry Kessler. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Sunday and prior to the service on Monday. Memorials may go to Harrodsburg Christian Church, 305 South Main St., Harrodsburg 40330.
