BRUCE S. GOODLETT
Bruce Shelby Goodlett, age 67, Kirkwood Road, Mercer County, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at his home. Born April 11, 1938 in Salvisa, he was the son of the late H.C. and Ruby Nichols Goodlett.
He was a member and deacon of the Kirkwood Baptist Church, former member and past President of the Salvisa Ruritan Club where he served as the Salvisa Christmas Parade Chairman for several years, was a thirty-six year member of the Oleika Shrine in Lexington, a member, secretary and treasurer of the Wilderness Shrine Club, a member of the York Rite, a member of the St. Johns Masonic Lodge # 125, a retired IBM employee, a member of the National Auctioneers Association, a member of the Kentucky Auctioneers Association where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005, was a US Army Veteran, was a licensed real estate broker and auctioneer for Sims Auction and Realty Company for many years and was associated with Parks Funeral for a number of years.
Survivors include three sisters: Roberta and her husband Joe Stamper, Owenton, Aileen and her husband Claude Clark, Louisville and Lucille and her husband Larry Morris, Harrodsburg; several nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother James L. Goodlett.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, April 9th at the Kirkwood Baptist Church by Bro. Jerel Coffey. Burial will be in the Kirkwood Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 8th from 4 until 8 pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Masonic services to be conducted at 7:30 pm.
Pallbearers are: Gene Lawson, Daniel D. Stewart, III, Bill Brinkley, Bob Trisler, Jimmy Sexton, Billy Chilton, Bobby Thompson, and Dr. Ernest G. Estridge.
Memorials are suggested to the Oleika Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital in Lexington, KY.
The Ransdell Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
