Norma Jean Trayner, age 69, of Ft, Myers, FL and Harrodsburg, widow of Sherman Dale Trayner, died Saturday, August 5, 2006 at the UK Medical Ctr., Lexington, KY. Born May 16, 1937 in Harrodsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow (Woody) Russell and Ethel (Isham) Russell of Harrodsburg. She was a retired office manager for Shawnee Farm, Harrodsburg. Mrs. Trayner was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, and was an associate member of the Southwest Baptist Church, Ft. Myers. Survivors other than her mother include: two daughters, Kim (Scott) Shannon of Frankfort, KY and Ann Robin (Billy) Dunaway of Harrodsburg, KY; one son, Dale Trayner of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Janice Mefford of Frankfort, KY; two granddaughters, Mandy & Marla Shannon; one grandson, Brandon Sutton; one step grandson, Tyler Dunaway. She was preceded in death by a brother, R. C. Russell. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 8 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Robert Defoor and Todd Lester. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are Mike Mullhereen, Harry Kimmey, Arvid Tackett, Jack Hartman, David Trayner, Dennis Trayner, Jack Raudenbush, and Doug Allen. Honorary bearers are Marla Shannon, Mandy Shannon, Brandon Sutton, Scott Shannon, Billy Dunaway, Brad, Brian and Brent Mefford, Max Tolliver, Houston Moody, and Dave Edens. Visitation will be Monday, August 7 from after 5:00 PM and Tuesday after 7:30 AM at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be sent to American Kidney Foundation.
