James Preston Goodlett, age 55, 1715 Talmage-Mayo Rd., Harrodsburg, husband of Betty Ann McCroskey Goodlett, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at the UK Medical Ctr., Lexington, KY.
Born January 24, 1951 in Mercer, KY, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Cora (Gritton) Goodlett Sr.. He was a self-employed dairy farmer and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife include: one son, Chris (Jennifer) Goodlett of Mercer Co., KY; four sisters, Barbara Jean Blackburn, Linda Ann Rost and Elizabeth Goodlett all of Louisville, KY, Brenda Joyce Drury of Bardstown, KY; eight brothers, Leon Goodlett and Donald Goodlett both of Nicholasville, KY, John Alvin Goodlett, Joe Martin Goodlett, Tommy Lee Goodlett and Jerry Wayne Goodlett all of Mercer Co., KY, Cleo Goodlett of Barbourville, KY, Michael Ray Goodlett of Harrodsburg, KY; two grandsons, Brycen and Layken Goodlett both pf Mercer Co.. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles T. Goodlett Jr..
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 17, 2006 at the Hopewell Baptist Church by Cleo Goodlett, John David Lane & Brian Burkehead. Burial will be on the James Goodlett Farm.
Pallbearers are Paul Wilson, Donald Sexton, Brent Hazlewood, Curt Ransdell, Mark Burberry, Darrell Edgington, Daniel Garcia and Glenn Devine.
Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY and Thursday 9:00 am until time of service at the church.
