Obituary of Sarah Susan Cornelius

SARAH SUSAN CORNELIUS Sarah Susan Cornelius, age 91, 647 Mooreland Avenue, widow of James W. Cornelius died Thursday, July 31st at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital after an illness. Born July 23, 1912 in Warren County, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Monroe Barkley and Ella Maggie Benson Lively. She was a homemaker, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church where she served as Past President of the W.M.U. and was a Sunday School Teacher for the L.L.L. Class. Survivors include two sons, David L. Cornelius, Spokane, WA. And Fred H. Cornelius, Murray, KY; two daughters Donna and her husband Richard Elliott of Whitesburg, KY and Marie and her husband Bill Cooper of Harrodsburg; one sister Ara Hord, of Florida; seven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by to sons, James W. and Clarence William Cornelius. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM Sunday, August 3rd at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dr. Robert Defoor, burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, August 2nd from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. The great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
