Virginia R. Lay, age 71, Robards Court, Harrodsburg, widow of Ruel Lay, died Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY.
Born August 26, 1935 in Mercer County, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Fred and Bonnie Gertrude (Williams) Divine. She was a retired bus driver for Mercer Co. School System and a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church.
Survivors include: , one daughter: Janice (Tommy) Vaught; Grandson, J.D. Vaught; 4 Step children, Janice Yates, Sherri Lay, Brenda Bradford and Gary Lay all of Harrodsburg; 7Step Grandchildren, ; 6 Step Great Grandchildren, a sister Viola Sims, she was predeceased by a daughter; Angela Denise Royalty and two brothers, Harold and Henry Bailey.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Friday, September 1 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Brandon Carrier and John David Lane with burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Oscar Bailey, Kyle Bailey, Johnny Bailey, Marshal Sims Jr, J.L. Devine, Tommy Hayden. Honorary Bearers will be: Brandon Lay, Chris Lay, Jeff Noel, Dale Yates, Justin Lay, Don Yates and Glenn Logue
Visitation will be Thursday, August 31 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Gideon Bible fund.
