David Carson Dolen M.D., age 56, 1734 McCouns Ferry Rd, Salvisa, died Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY. Born August 30, 1950 in Monticello, KY, he was the son of Marie Camic Ellis and the late Carson W. Dolen. He attended the University of Copenhagen, graduated from Vanderbilt University and the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine where he later taught. Dr. Dolen served many boards and institutions including his own private practice, the Jefferson Hospital and Our Lady of Peace where he was the Executive Vice President and Medical Director. He was also very active in the Harrodsburg Historical Society and James Harrod Trust. Survivors include: his mother; Marie Camic Ellis; a brother: Lemayne Ellis of Harrodsburg, KY; Constant Companion, Klaus Olsen of Salvisa, KY. Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM, Friday, September 8 at the Harrodsburg Christian Church by Rev. William E Adams, Jr. and Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Dan Tucker, Lynn Bowden, Andy Almy, Ted Dean, Jack Bosley, Hal Harned, Wharton McDaniel and Pat Deese. Visitation will be Thursday, September 7 after 5 PM and Friday morning from 7:30 -11 am at Ransdell Funeral Chapel then from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be sent to Heritage Hospice, P.O. Box 1213, Danville, KY 40422 or the James Harrod Trust.
