Hershel R. Votaw, age 78, Warwick Road, Harrodsburg, husband of Bessie Mae Smith Votaw, died Monday, November 6, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY.
Born June 18, 1928 in Dekalb, IL, he was the son of the late Renous and Ophelia (Curry) Votaw. He served in the Marine Corps, was a retired employee of IBM and a member of the Carpenters Christian Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife include: two sons: Michael (Debbie) Votaw and Larry (Lisa) Votaw of Harrodsburg, KY; two sisters: Margaret Proctor of Harrodsburg, KY, Catherine Matherly of Jeffersontown, KY; and one brother: Donald Votaw of Lawrenceburg, KY; two Grandchildren, Chris and Jayden Votaw. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM, Thursday, November 9 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Greg Warren and Richard McKinley with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Nephews, Honorary bearers are: Kenneth Metts and the Men Of The Carpenters' Christian Church.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 8 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday prior to Service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Carpenters´ Christian Church.
