Obituary of Flossie K. Carpenter

Flossie K. Carpenter, age 94, Harrodsburg, died Monday, November 20, 2006 at Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY. Born October 11, 1912 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Minnie (Devine) Kirkland and the widow of Frank C. Carpenter. She was an Elder Emeritus at Burgin Christian Church, former Choir Member and active in the Christian Women´s Fellowship for many years. Was volunteer at Haggin Memorial Hospital and was a private tutor. She had taught school at Madison, Jefferson, and Mercer County Elementary Schools. Survivors include: one daughter: Ellen Grayce Hellard of Versailles, KY;; two sisters: Martha K. Davis of Harrodsburg, KY, Elsie K. Freeman of Harrodsburg, KY; one Nephew, and several Nieces. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2:00, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Mandy Yates and Jeanette Lukas. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Bearers: Michael Simms, Milward Dedman, James Wheeler, Fred VanArsdall, Curtis Bailey, Troy Watson, Mark Reiss and Edwin Freeman. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 22, 12:00 Noon until the hour of service at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
