Obituary of John S. Baughman, III

Dr. John S. Baughman, III, age 74, 504 Beaumont Ave., Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at UK Medical Ctr., Lexington, KY. Born February 27, 1932 in Stanford, KY, he was the son of the late J. S. and Dora (Hill) Baughman Jr. and was the husband of Barbara McGlone Baughman. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church, the Mercer Medical Society, the A.M.A., the McDowell Home Health Board, and the Mercer Co. Fair Board. Dr. Baughman attended Washington and Lee Univ. and Centre College, and was a graduate of the Univ. of KY and the Univ. of Louisville School of Medicine. He practiced family medicine for 46 years in the Mercer Co. area. Survivors other than his wife include: four sons, Tom Rankin Baughman of Harrodsburg, KY, Robert (Bob) Eaton Baughman of Harrodsburg, KY, William (Bill) Montgomery Baughman of Harrodsburg, KY, John (Pete) Samuel Baughman IV of Harrodsburg, KY; one sister, Katherine Brower of Lancaster, KY; one step son, Brent Newby of Harrodsburg, KY; one step daughter, Lessa Schwarz of Atlanta, GA; 8 grandchildren, Sean Brown, Tyler, Mials, Morgan, Carter, Jackson, Sam & Chase Baughman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Hill Baughman. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at the Harrodsburg Christian Church by James Baughman. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Dr. Nick Dedman, Chuck Dedman, Dr. Tom Dedman, Sean Brown, George (Bud) VanArsdall, Tony Gowins, Jim McGlone, Bill Holton. Honorary bearers are: the Haggin Memorial Hospital Staff, the McDowell Home Health Board, Bob Ballard & W. L. Rouse Jr. Visitation will be Sunday, November 26 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel and Monday, 12:00 noon until the hour of service at the church.
