Obituary of Margaret Carr Lester

Margaret Carr Lester Margaret Carr Lester, age 90, Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born October 7, 1916 in Harrodsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Will and Annie Byrd (Bercaw) Carr and the widow of Maurice F. Lester. She was former employee of Sportleigh Hall, Cricketeer, Jonathan Logan, Shaker Village, and Bookeeper for Lester´s Station. She was a member of the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School and Training Union. Survivors include: two daughters: Jo Anne (J.W.) Logue of Harrodsburg, KY, Doris (Billy Ray) Thompson of Lawrenceburg, KY; one brother: Robert Carr of Peoria, IL; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was predeceased by a son: Robert Maurice Lester, sisters: Alice Tatum, Mary Jo Young, Cora Kurtz, Nancy Stopher, Helen Wilham, and two brothers: J. P. and P. M. Carr. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM, Saturday, Jan.6, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Jack Geurin and David Crowe. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Kevin C. Logue, Joseph Walters, Jay Walters, Bobby Thompson, Larry Stopher and Dane Aldridge. Visitation will be Friday, January 5, 5-8 PM. and Saturday prior to Service at Funeral Chapel Memorial contributions may be sent to Alzheimer's Foundation.
