Bernice Rice Hendren, age 71, Nicholasville, wife of Willis D. Hendren, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY. Born February 18, 1935 in Mercer County, KY, she was the daughter of Viola Evelyn (VanArsdall) Rose, and the late Raymond Hamm. She was married to Willis D. “Bill” Hendren. She was a retired nurse at Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center and a member of the Cramer & Hanover Church of Christ. Survivors include: her husband: Willis D. Hendren, her mother: Viola VanArsdall Rose, one daughter: Cheryl Wolf of Deerfield Beach, FL and one son: Eric Rice of Raleigh, NC; a Step Daughter, Dana Hill of Sellersburg, IN; ; one brother: Willard “Buddy” Hamm of Harrodsburg, KY; Grandson, Noah Lee; Niece, Karen Ross. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Donna Singleton, and her first husband: Donald Rice. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Friday, January 12 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Bro. Bennie Hill and burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Jack Morris, Omer Casey, Steve Hill, Aaron Hill, Kenneth Hurst and Brennen Royalty. Honorary Bearers are: Monty Trower, Marshall Freeman, Ronnie Rice, Jimmy Morris, William Floyd and Noah Lee, Visitation will be Thursday, January 11 from 5-8 PM and Friday prior to Service on Friday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
