Stephen L. Bailey
Stephen L. Bailey, age 86, Harrodsburg, husband of Louise Worley Bailey for 58 years, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY.
Born February 20, 1920 in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late Waller C. and Florence (Burgin) Bailey. He worked for the Glenn L Martin Company, Baltimore MD during World War II building planes; he then farmed the rest of his life and enjoyed it. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church for 80 years where was Deacon and an Elder Emeritus, and was also a member of the Mercer County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include: his wife: Louise (Worley) Bailey, and one son: Stephen C. (Georgetta) Bailey of Harrodsburg, KY; three Grandchildren, Aaron, Stephine and Adina Bailey; two Step Grandchild, Angie (Matt) Swabey and Bruce (Charisa) Wade; one Great Grandchild, Mia T. Wade. He was preceded in death by a sister: Ann C. Bailey.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM, Friday, January 12 at the Harrodsburg Christian Church by Phil Williams, Dr. John Chenault & Dann Masden with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Dr. Vance True, Dr. Warren Nash, Dr. David Cleveland, Preston Burgin, Jessie Spaulding and Charles Lewis. Honorary bearers are: Margot Perkins, Nancy Much, Michelle Grittin, Trudy Bailey, Jim Dause, Clarence Kurtz and the Deacons & Elders of Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 11 from 5-8 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY and Friday 10 AM until the hour of service at Church.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Harrodsburg Christian Church or the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
