Martha L. Yates, age 97, Harrodsburg, widow of Ruel Yates, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY.
Born March 25, 1909 in Mercer County, KY, she was the daughter of the late James and Retta (Sallee) Long. She was a retired practical nurse for Haggin Hospital & Private Duty and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons: Tommy (Shirleen) Yates and Gene (Gloria) Yates both of Harrodsburg, KY; a brother: Nooe Long of Harrodsburg, KY; Nine Grandchildren, ; Several Great Grandchildren . She was preceded in death by a son, Bennie Lee Yates.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 3 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Ty Clenney with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Penny Derringer, Larry Long, Mick Long, Danny Yates, Mark Yates and Gary Yates. Great Grandchildren are to serve as Honorary Pallbearers
Visitation will be Friday, February 2 after 1:00 PM and Saturday prior to Service at The Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
