Joe E. Hurst, age 68, Harrodsburg, husband of Ruby Dean Saunders Hurst, died Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY.
Born June 21, 1938 in McAfee, KY, he was the son of the late Ben C. and Blanche (Hayes) Hurst. Joe was an avid University of Kentucky fan; he loved camping and was the ultimate Flirt. He was a retired machinist from Corning Glass Inc., and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church
Survivors include: his wife: Ruby Dean (Saunders) Hurst, a daughter: Trava Hurst (Kevin) Baker of Nicholasville, KY and a son: Brandon Joe Hurst of Harrodsburg, KY; two brothers: Martin (Peggy) Hurst and Condit (Judy) Hurst both of Harrodsburg, KY; two Grandchildren: Morgan Baker and Lily Beth Patterson.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Monday, February 19 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by James Harley, Joe Smith & Scott Hurst, Burial will be in the Burgin Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are: Milton Hammons, Scotty Hammons, Jackie Hammons, Ronnie Million, John Hawes and Shawn Osbourn. Honorary Bearers are: Tony Bailey, Arvid Raider Tackett, Roy Lee Sanders, Butch Merchant, Joe Hamilton and Doug Taylor
Visitation will be Sunday, February 18 from 4-8 PM and prior to Service on Monday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be sent to U. K. Childrens Hospital or the St. Jude Hospital.
