Obituary of Virginia Ann Murphy

Virginia Ann Murphy Virginia Ann French Murphy, age 85, 851 S. College, Harrodsburg, widow of Gilbert Murphy, died Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY. Born June 20, 1921 in Boyle County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Mary Alice (Smith) French. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. The legacy she leaves was her giving spirit, hard work, and unfailing encouragement in lifelong support to all of her family. Survivors include: one daughter: Mae Dell Mills of Calhan, CO and four sons: Daniel (Nancy) Murphy, KY, Tim (Donna) Murphy and Clifton (Cindy) Murphy all of Harrodsburg, KY, Edward Murphy of Lexington, KY; one brother: Morgan French; Nine Grandchildren: Matthew Mills, Jacob (Meghan) Mills, Debbie (Greg) Villa, Steve (Kathy) Murphy, Patricia (Bill) Bowen, April (Myron) Ellis, Merideth Murphy, Kathy (Lee) Wilson and Earl Douglas (Angela) Murphy Jr.; Fourteen Great Grandchildren: Zachary Murphy, Taylor Mills, Greg & Dillon Villa, Alyssa Murphy, Sean Ryan, Alexa Bowen, Trevor Ellis, Chelsey, Casey & Clay Wilson, Christopher, Mason & Madison Murphy. She was predeceased by a son; Earl Douglas Murphy, two grandsons; Joseph Daniel Murphy and Timothy Wayne Murphy, five sisters; Leona Shackleford, Sally Lou Dorsey, Laverne Sims, Mabel Morgan, Mildred Peterson and a brother; Edward French. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 1 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by John David Lane with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers - Dan Murphy, Tim Murphy, Cliff Murphy, Ed Murphy, Earl Douglas Murphy, Jr., and Steve Murphy Honorary Pallbearers – Jacob Mills, April Ellis, Merideth Murphy, Patricia Ellen Bowen, Kathy Wilson, Matthew Mills, Debbie Villa Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28 from 6-8 PM and Thursday prior to Service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
