Obituary of Richard “Dick” Reecher

Richard E. Reecher, age 78, Danville, died Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY. Born November 3, 1928 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Frank Edwin and Lulu M. (Baxter) Reecher. He served during World War II in the Navy; was a retired Insurance agent with the Peoples Insurance Co. and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife: Gayle Ashford (Head) Reecher, five daughters: Deborah (Charles) Butler of Harrodsburg, KY, Pamela (Sammie) Hannah of Rochester, NY, Bonnie (Fred) Davidson of Culpeper, VA, Kimberlee (Steve) Owens of Danville, KY, Rebecca (Lee) Baker of Danville, KY and one son: Steven (Barbara) Holland of Bealeton, VA; 24 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren. Predeceased by a son: Buddy L. Reecher. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 3 at the Immanuel Baptist Church by Harold Best and Sammie Hannah & Steve Owens. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, with military rites. Pallbearers are: Kevin Butler, Clinton Owens, Timothy Hannah, Daniel Hannah, Michael Hannah, Joshua Owens. Honorary Bearers: James Elkins, Colton Elkins, Brad Ingram, Bob Mitchell, Bobby Reeves, and Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, April 2 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday prior to Service at the Church. Memorial contributions may be sent to Immanuel Baptist Church, Faulkner Ln., Danville, KY 40422 Ransdell Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
