Obituary of Ailene Whalen

Ailene Whalen, 88, of 133 Gritton Road, Salvisa, widow of William O. Buck Whalen, Sr. died Sunday, July 15, 2007 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born November 27, 1918 in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Henry Homer and Leoma Travis Bussell.
She was a former homemaker and a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, William O. Wimpy {Amanda} Whalen, Jr. of Salvisa; two daughters, Doris (R. D.) Knox and Brenda Jo (David) Evans, both of Mercer County; one sister, Bertha Lake of Lexington; one brother, Bert Bussell of Lexington; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Jean Lindsey, two brothers, Henry H. and Clarence S. Bussell, and one sister, Tessie Brock.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, July 19, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Bro. George Dye with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Tyler, Teddy Tyler, Jonathan Trisler, Gary Lee Dixon, Buddy Whalen, and Matthew Dixon.
Honorary bearers will be David Evans, Jack Lindsey, and R. D. Knox.
Visitation will be Wednesday after 5 p.m. and Thursday prior to service at the funeral chapel.
