J. C. Sims, age 87, 129 Dedman St, Harrodsburg, husband of Doris Crane Dickerson Sims, died Sunday, August 19, 2007 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born June 6, 1920 in Cornishville, KY, he was the son of the late Floyd and Nona (Moore) Sims. He was co-owner of Mayes and Sims Farm Implement Co. for many years.He was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge # 777 F & AM and the Oleika Shrine. Other survivors include: one daughter: Carolyn (Johnny) Thornton of Harrodsburg, three sisters: Modena S Horn of Harrodsburg, Edna McGee and Mary Elizabeth Hopewell of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren: Caroline (Jamie) Tatum, Anne Marie (Mike) Estes, Brian (Shannon) Driskell; three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter: Charlotte (Sonny) Driskell. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 21 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Phil Williams with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Joe Stevens, Tebbs S. Moore, Bill Brinkley, Harold Davis, Brian Driskell, Will Dedman, Jamie Tatum, and Mike Estes. Honorary bearers: Edwin Freeman and Dan Culton. Visitation will be Monday, August 20 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday prior to Service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be sent to Harrodsburg Christian Church, 305 South Main Street, Harrodsburg, KY 40330 or the Shriner´s Childrens Hospital, 1900 Richmond Rd., Lexington, KY 40502.
