Obituary of Gretchen Lay

Gretchen R. Lay, age 59, of Louisville, wife of Norvie L. Lay, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Christopher East Nursing Center, Louisville, KY. Born October 10, 1947 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Ballantine Raditick and Kathryn (Fugler) Messenger, Front Royal, VA. She was a certified travel consultant for The Travel Authority and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, where she had been a lector. Survivors other than her mother and husband include: three daughters, Charity F. (Anthony) Dawson, Gretchen E. Fine, & Diana Dee DeNitto, Stephens City, VA; two sons, Thaddeus Fine & Justice (Leigh) Fine, Front Royal, VA; one sister, Diane Dove, Mt. Vernon, OH; one brother, John Messenger, Alexandria, VA; one step daughter, Lee Anne Sullivan, Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Tristan & Carter Fine, Christopher Kilpatrick, and Patrick & Anna Sullivan. A Prayer Service will be conducted 3:30 pm, Wednesday, August 15 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Father Danny Schwendeman, burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
