Obituary of Gladys Reed

Gladys Reed, age 90, Harrodsburg, widow of Harold Lance Reed, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY. Born August 19, 1916 in Versailles, KY, she was the daughter of the late Arch Clay and Sarah Elizabeth (Howard) Britton. She was a retired seamstress at the Mercer Dress Corp. and a member of the Bohon Church of Christ. Survivors include: three daughters: Annetta (Hanley) McMullin, Lynne (Johnnie) Slone of Harrodsburg, KY Sandra (Hal) Adams of Houston, TX; one sister: Maxie Cowan of Columbia, SC; and a brother: Wilbur Britton of Harrodsburg, KY; Daughter-in-law, Sandra Dees; Grandchildren: Brian (Nancy) McMullin, Patrick (Amy) McMullin, Chris (Melodie) Slone, Kevin (Jennifer) Adams, Clay (Sara ) Slone, Kim (Mike) Dean and Timara (Sean) Adams; Great Grandchildren, Keith (Shannon) Dean, Zachary McMullin, Jonathan Adams, Cristy (David Curtis) Ransdell, Nikki Jones, Anna Beth McMullin, Jordan McMullin, Savannah McMullin, Amanda McMullin, Seth McMullin, Bailey Elizabeth Adams, Kathryn Lynn Adams, Lance William Slone; Six Great Great Grandchildren ; Foster Grandchildren, Michelle Dees, Lisa (Bruce) Hogue, Matthew & Nick Hogue Dees. Predeceased by a great great grandson: Levi Patrick McMullin, a foster son: Robert Cecil Dees, three brothers: Marion, Ralph & Davis Britton and a sister: Bessie Kirkland. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Friday, August 31 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Leonard Price with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Brian McMullin, Patrick McMullin, Chris Slone, Kevin Adams, Keith Dean, Sean Lewis, Clay Slone, and David Curtis Ransdell. Honorary bearers are: Skeeter Reed, Vance Reed, Wilbur Britton, Seth McMullin, Lance Slone, Jonathan Reed Adams and Zachary McMullin Visitation will be Thursday, August 30 after 5:00 PM and Friday prior to Service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
