Chester Scott, 86, 122 Robards Ct., Harrodsburg, husband of Ludema George Scott, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at his residence. Born Sept. 25, 1921 at Shakertown in Mercer Co., he was the son of the late William Chester and Flora Mae VanArsdall Scott. He was a retired Prudential Insurance Agent (30 years) and a Army Air Corps Bombardier Veteran of WWII. Mr. Scott was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, where he had served as a Senior Adult Leader and Adult Men Sunday School Teacher. He was also a charter member of the VFW, and had served as the Volunteer Chaplain for the Harrodsburg Fire Department for over 50 years. Survivors other than his wife include: a sister-in-law, Annell Scott, Harrodsburg; a niece, Patricia (Eddie) Mayes; a nephew, Roy Gordon (Kathy) Scott, Jr.; a special cousin, Eddie (Alice) Sherrow; several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Gordon Scott, Sr.. Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg by Robert DeFoor and Rick Clark. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be from 5 pm until 8 pm, Thursday. Pallbearers are David Phelps, Bill Watts, Harry Wiley, Calvin Shewmaker, Bill Hendren, and Jim Beck. Honorary bearers will be members of the Faith, Hope & Love Sunday School Class and the Harrodsburg Fire Department. Memorials are suggested to one’s favorite charity.
