Thurman L. Preston, age 96, Beaumont Ave, Harrodsburg, widower of Evelena Gains Preston, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the Charleston Health Care Center, Danville, KY.
Born August 15, 1911 in Jessamine County, he was the son of the late Ollie and Etta (Browning) Preston. He served during World War II in the Army. Thurman retired from Cudahay, and was a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church. He was also a member to the Masonic Lodge 777F&AM.
Survivors include: three Nieces, Leslie Gains Williams, Garnetta Loucks and Thelma Schmuckers; a Nephew, Franklin Preston and Several Great Nieces & Nephews,. Thurman was predeceased by his brothers Stanley and William Preston.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM, Sunday, October 28 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Ralph Neal and burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Baker Williams, Harold Lester, Roy Beasley, Scotty Anderson, Jeff Rhodes, Harold Hulett, Orland Webb and Gene Motley. Members of his Sunday School Class are to serve as Honorary Bearers.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 27 from 5- 8 PM.
