Obituary of Earl Franklin Ransdell

Earl Franklin Ransdell, age 75, 1259 Louisville Road, Harrodsburg, husband of Louise Durham Ransdell, died Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY.
Born May 26, 1932 in Mercer Co., KY, he was the son of the late Cecil Davis and Lena Bell (Bunton) Ransdell, Sr..
He was a retired Southern States Coop. Petroleum Sales Tech Representative, member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church, 1950 graduate of McAfee School, and a Korean War U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of St. John Masonic Lodge #125 since 1956, past Lodge Master, past District Deputy Grand Master, and had been a member of Daviess Ch. 29, W.R. Selby Sr. Ch. 4, and Bowling Green Ch. 38, Royal Arch Masons, having served as High Priest of Daviess and W.R. Selby Jr. Chapters. His service continued as Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of KY, Royal Arch Masons, and as Illustrious Master of the Danville # 3 and Bowling Green # 74 Councils of Royal & Select Masters, as well as Most illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of KY Royal & Select Masters. Mr. Ransdell had also served as Eminent Commander of the Ryan Commandery # 17 & Somerset Commandery # 31, Knights Templer, and was a member of the Scottish Rite of Louisville and Oleika Shrine Temple, The Royal Order of Scotland, Holy Royal Arch Templar Priest, Kentucky Priory # 25, Knights of York Cross of Honour and had served as Eminent Prior.
He was also active in the Somerset Chamber of Commerce and had chaired the Babe Ruth Baseball League for several years.
Survivors other than his wife include: one daughter, Cynthia Lynn (Ted) Cummins, Oldham Co., KY; one son, Anthony Earl (Rhonda) Ransdell of Columbus, OH; 5 grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, and Emily Ransdell, and Ben and Lauren Cummings. He was preceded in death 3 brothers, A.L. 'Sammy' Ransdell, Herbert Ransdell, and C. D. Ransdell Jr., and 2 sisters, Eva Mae Hahn and Doris Burgin.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Sunday, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Mark Thompson and John Kesel with burial in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Salvisa.
Pallbearers are: Rickey Peyton, Frank Hahn, David Ransdell, Billy Ransdell, James Davis Lawson, Todd Warner, and Joe Stevens.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 8 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday prior to Service.
