Jane Dawson Hatchett, age 90, Harrodsburg, widow of James Emmett Hatchett, died Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Heritage Hall Care Center, Lawrenceburg, KY.
Born November 10, 1917 in Harrodsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Dewitt Coleman and Juanita (Stotts) Vandiver. She was a teacher for Harrodsburg and Danville School Systems and a member of the Harrodsburg. Jane was also a member of the Harrodsburg Historical Society, James Harrod Trust, Haggin Hospital Board, Harrodsburg Library Board and the Harrodsburg Womens Club.
Survivors include:a daughter: Nancy H. Cascio and a son: William Patrick Hatchett both of Harrodsburg, KY; Grandson, Thane Cascio; Granddaughter, Christina Murphy; Great Granddaughter, Madison Jane Cascio. Predeceased by a grandson: Troy Cascio.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM, Tuesday, February 19 at the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church by Ken Klemme. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: William H. "Bill" Hatchett, "Buzz" Nimrod Buster, Nick Dedman, Keith Batterton, John Sims and Lewis Prewitt.
Visitation will be Monday, February 18 from 5-7 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, and from 10 until the service at the Church on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Harrodsburg United Methodist Church or Mercer Public Library.
