Lue Avah Horn, age 95, 2426 Cornishville Rd., Harrodsburg, widow of Thomas Miller Horn, Jr., died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY. Born January 13, 1913 in Mercer Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Bettie (Godfrie) Dean. She had worked 19 years at the Old Ft. Harrod State Park, and had also worked at Newberry's. Mrs. Horn was the oldest living member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she belonged to the Silver Bell Sunday School Class. Survivors include: two son, Miller (Gayle) Horn, III and Don (JoEllen) Horn, both of Harrodsburg, KY; four grandchildren, Steve, Chris, Chad, and Derek Horn, all of Harrodsburg; 6 great grandchildren; and a several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Hansford Dean, and two sisters, Vivian Logue and Bonnie Carter. Funeral services will be conducted 01:30 PM, Thursday, March 6th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Morris Trayner, Curtis Sims, and Harley Humfleet Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are Steve Horn, Chris Horn, Chad Horn, Derek Horn, Patrick Horn, Emily Horn, Austin Horn, Logan Horn, Talia Horn, and Parker Horn. Honorary bearers are Nieces & Nephews and Great Nieces & Nephews . Visitation will be Wednesday, March 5 from after 4:00 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Memorial contributions may be sent to Gideon Memorial Bible Fund, Calvary Baptist Church, or one's favorite charity.
