Obituary of Wanda Mary Lane

Wanda Mary Shirley Lane, 86, a resident of Mercer Co. all of her life, went to be with her Lord on Sunday evening, April 20, 2008, at the Haggin Memorial Extended Care.
She was born November 21, 1921, to the late Floyd and Laura Keightley Shirley, and married Thomas Elmer Lane on August 3, 1942. He preceded her in death by seven years. She was a faithful member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, where she quick to share her testimony. She also attended Ebenezer Church of Christ. Never meeting a stranger, she always had a kind word and loved to be with family and friends.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Martha Carol Lane; Vietnam veteran son, Thomas E. Lane Jr.; step-mothers, Druscilla Howard Shirley and Willa Lewis Shirley; and sisters, Martha (John) Nicely, Ruth (Calvin) Trisler, and Helen (Paul) Lewis.
Survivors include: her sons, William Larry Lane, Bentley S. (Susan Logue) Lane, John David (Sandra McCroskey) Lane, all of Mercer Co., and James Carter (Kathy Brinegar) Lane, DVM; grandchildren, Crystal (John) Hewitt, Cara Wallace, Coral (Danny) Cooney, Charity Cain, Angela (Joe) Warren, Windy Lane, Bentley Dax Lane, Clayton Alan Lane, Sherrie Sue (Donnie) Haase, Jonathan David Lane, Joseph Michael Lane, James Ryan Lane, Hannah Marie Lane, and Timothy Morgan Lane; great grandchildren, Robert Avery Wallace, Matthew Thomas Clark, Shelby Lane Cooney, Alexis Christine Warren, Lindsey Faith Warren, and Ellie Lane Haase; two step-brothers, Floyd Thomas (Leatrice) Shirley and David Lewis (Rita) Shirley; two step-sisters, Fannie Jane (Daryl) Pinkston and Brenda Maxine (Buddy) McCrystal; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, April 24,2008, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by John David Lane, Brian Burkhead, John Kesel and Barry Jude. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at Ransdells.
Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, Hopewell Baptist Church, or Ebenezer Church of Christ.
