Charles William Pittman, age 81, 185 Cummins Ferry Road, Salvisa, husband of Naomi Honerkamp Ransdell Pittman, died Friday, May 16, 2008 at his home.
Born March 3, 1927 in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late William Harvey and Rosa Beatrice (Best) Pittman. He was married to Naomi Honerkamp Ransdell. He served the Navy during World War II. Charles was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Clarksville, IN and a Kentucky Colonel. He owned and operated the Pittman Insurance Agency.
Survivors include: his wife: Naomi (Honerkamp Ransdell) Pittman, a daughter: Mary Elaine Sheets and a son: Charles Wayne Pittman both of Clarksville, IN; Step Son: William "Bill" Earl Ransdell of Salvisa, KY; Stepdaughter: Vicki R. Walters of San Antonio, TX; Four Grandchildren; Five Step Grandchildren; One Great Grandchildren; Eight Step Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother: Leroy Pittman; Sister: Rosemary; and his first wife: Irene Hogue Pittman.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM, Tuesday, May 20 at the Hopewell Baptist Church by Brian Burkhead. Graveside service will be held 3 pm by Rev. Russell Lievers in the Walnut Ridge, Jeffersonville, IN.
Visitation will be Monday, May 19 from 5-8 pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
