Edward Eugene Griffieth, age 82, Harrodsburg, died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the V.A Medical Center, Lexington, KY.
Born August 13, 1925 in Garrard County, KY, he was the son of the late Abe and Mary Virgie Davis Griffieth. Edward was past commander of American Legion Post # 8, also a member of the VFW. He served in the US Army during WWII where he received a purple heart with oak leaf cluster and four bronze stars. He was a retired building contractor. Survivors include: two sons: Ricky Moberly of Salvisa, KY, Jeff Moberly of Sadieville, KY; two sisters: Betty McGinnis of Harrodsburg, KY, Jewell Buchanan of Middletown, OH; and one brother: Roy Griffieth of Stanford, KY, and several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Monday, June 2 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with burial in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, with military rites. Bearers: Matthew, Joe and Billy McGinnis, Bart Allen, Stanley Patton, and Eddie Goodlett.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 1 from 5-8 pm and Monday prior to Service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
