Obituary of Harry Carter McGuffey

Harry Carter McGuffey, age 85, from Young Harris, GA; widower of Frances Marie Edwards McGuffey, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Chatuge Nursing Home, Hiawassee, GA.
Born January 13, 1923 in Stanford and then grew up in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Jesse and Martha (Harp) McGuffey. He served during World War II in the Marine Corps. He was a retired Chevron employee and a member of Southern Baptist Churches in Huntingburg, IN and Florence, KY where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include: a daughter: Mendy M. Roebuck of Young Harris, GA and a son: Michael McGuffey of Jasper, IN; four Grandchildren: Melinda Lee, Michelle Bowman, Keith Scott and Joshua Scott; Four Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by Two Sisters and Three Brothers.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 18 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be Wednesday prior to service at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Memorial contributions may be sent to charity of one's choice.
