Obituary of Genavie L. Reed

Genavie L. Reed, age 92, Bruce Ct., Danville formerly of Harrodsburg, widow of Varnie Reed, died Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.
Born September 13, 1915 in IL, she was the daughter of the late Harve L. and Oma Phillips Long. She was a retired Cricketeer Mfg. Co. employee and also worked at Shaker Village for several years. She was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, Worthy Grand Matron Club and the Wilderness Trace Quilt Guild.
Survivors include: a daughter, Trudy R. Cavins of Lexington; a step-son, Hugh Reed of Sacramento, CA; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step-son, J. B. Reed, a sister, Doris McCrystal, and two brothers, Kenneth & Dudley Long.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 2 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dr. Robert DeFoor with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 2 from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service.
Pallbearers: Ron Kratzwald, Clarence Greene, Levi Reed, Maruice Long, Mauricie Reed, Danner Warren.
