Obituary of Virginia Yeager

Virginia Noel Lay Yeager, age 89, 1108 Butler Drive, Lawrenceburg, widow of Orbrey "Jake" Yeager, died Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Jewish Hospital, Louisville, KY. Born May 18, 1919 in Washington County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Marvin G. and Rebecca (Graham) Lay. She was a Mercer Co. School System employee and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She was a member of the Fairview Homemaker Club and the Mercer Senior Citizens for many years. Survivors include: a daughter: Joyce Yeager Carlton and a son: Garnie A. Yeager both of Lawrenceburg, two sisters: Geneva Sanders of Harrodsburg, Shirleen (Tommy) Yates of Harrodsburg, and a brother: John P. Lay of Danville, KY; Two Grandchildren, Linley Yeager and Kim Carpenter; Four great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son: Jackie Yeager, and a sister: Jewell Boswell. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 21 at the Bethel Baptist Church by Raymond Long, John D. Lay & Brad King. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be Monday, October 20 after 5:00 PM and Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel until 1:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be sent to Gideon Bible Fund or Bethel Baptist Church.
